The training of the ship’s kitchen crew by the Faculty of Nutrition begins

On November 16, 2021, the training that the Sanitary Control project group of the University’s Training Ship, coordinated by Prof. Maria das Graças G. de A. Medeiros, from the Faculty of Nutrition Emília de Jesus Ferreiro, will work with the cooks on the ship Ciência do Mar III. The activity is part of the plan to involve as many UFF courses as possible in the management of this important asset. The training consists of a cycle of six 90-minute lectures to be held weekly with relevant topics on good practices to be adopted in the ship’s kitchen. The presentations on vigilance, personal hygiene and healthy, purchase and storage, to meal preparation eating are extended to all crew members. The objective is to train the entire crew, not just the cooks, in order to build a mindset in which the quality of the food on board is considered a priority. This will be another differential of our research vessel.
